Police Chief Brandon Barnhill and Paducah Bank President and COO Mardie Herndon
PADUCAH, Ky -
In a few weeks, you will be able to pick up a child ID kit to better help authorities identify and locate your child if they go missing.
The Paducah Bank donated $1,000 to the Paducah Police Department to help provide these child identification kits to families.
The donation covered about half the cost of the child ID kits ordered from KidStar Safety.
The kits are similar to those passed out several years ago and include spots for emergency telephone numbers, medical consent authorization, dental records, growth records, a current photograph, the child's fingerprints as well as a swab for the parent or guardian to collect a DNA sample from the child. Chief Barnhill says "with the kits, we can assure that in the unfortunate event of a child missing, we have the information and other identifiers available to us in a timely fashion."
The kits will be available at Paducah Bank locations and at the Paducah Police Department.
