KY 2206 closed due to erosion near bridge

Posted: Updated:
HICKMAN COUNTY, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed a section of KY 2206 in Hickman County effective immediately.

KY 2206/Springhill Road is closed at mile point 0.667 due to erosion damage at the end of the Cane Creek Fork Bridge.

Truckers hauling materials through the area noticed deteriorating asphalt near the end of the bridge and reported it to engineers with the KYTC. A check of the site determined that the bridge should be closed due to erosion damage along the bridge header wall.

KY 2206 is likely to remain closed into next week due to heavy rain expected on Friday and Saturday. Public Information Officer Keith Todd says it will take several days to schedule required equipment and personnel to make repairs.

The closure point is along KY 2206 between KY 703 and Rebiel Road just north of Clinton, Kentucky.
