McCRACKEN Co, Ky -
The McCracken County Board of Education will be relocating in an effort to help district funds.
Last night, the Board approved relocating the central office to the soon-to-be vacant Reidland Middle School building.
Reidland Middle School will be relocating to the former Reidland High School building in the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. The Board of Education Central Office will relocate to the then-vacated Reidland Middle School from 435 Berger Road.
At last night's meeting, the current office on the property at Berger Road was declared surplus and will be sold.
Superintendent, Dr. Nancy Waldrop said, "we like to be as efficient as possible."
Waldrop said the move will save the district $175,000 per year in utility costs and maintenance repairs.
