Three arrested, over 2 lbs meth confiscated

TRIGG COUNTY, KY - Police confiscated over two pounds of meth and arrested three on various drug charges.

Kentucky State Police stopped a car Thursday on Interstate 24 east around 11:17 am for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, the trooper noticed criminal activity. Another K9 arrived on scene while the trooper was issuing a ticket to the driver. The K9 indicated the car.

Troopers searched the car and found 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine and 5 grams of marijuana with $423 in cash.

The driver tried to run away after the drugs were located, but the troopers were able to catch him after a short chase.

Marcos Meza-Carmona, 27 of Omaha, NE was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree/ 1st offense, and Fleeing and Evading Police 2nd degree on foot as well as failure to wear a seat belt, and no operator's license.

Raul T. Shaec, 21 of Omaha, NE was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree, and Possession of Marijuana.

Carmona Maza, 24 of Palatine, IL was charged with Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree.

All three are lodged in the Christian County Detention Facility.
