METROPOLIS, IL -
They say the yellow sun is where Superman gets his power and Friday in Metropolis a very special Superman definitely was at full strength.
Make A Wish recipient Benjamin Murillo has shown the strength of Superman.
The 8-year-old went through open heart and brain surgery before he was 6 months old.
But on Friday, he was Superman as he lead a parade of fellow super heroes around the grounds of the Superman Celebration.
His mother Brenda says the town has welcomed her family in with open arms and that not even kryptonite can keep the smile off of her son's face.
"He's my superman, he's my superhero and I get to share him with everybody. I always say that every mom gives birth to a child but I gave birth to a super hero. Everybody has been kind and it has been a wonderful experience. It's more than I could ever imagine," said Nancy Murillo.
But Superman Murillo's weekend of fun isn't over yet.
On Sunday, he and his family will be named honorary citizens of Metropolis.
