Posted: Updated:
RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo. - A Missouri man's body was recovered Sunday evening after about a four-hour search in Current River.

Missouri State Highway Patrol got a call about a missing swimmer around 2:15, and Assistant Chief Operator John Beaton with Troop E identified the man as 34-year-old Jeremy Evans of Chaffee, Missouri. Highway patrol officers recovered Evans' body while dragging the river in Ripley County near Doniphan.

Beaton described the incident as a "swimming accident," and did not indicate that any foul play was involved. The Ripley County Coroner removed the body from the scene.
