Non-profit asking for public's help

PADUCAH - Paducah Cooperative Ministry says it needs help finding a temporary space to use as a homeless shelter.

The non-profit says it was told by the Housing Authority of Paducah that its current lease agreement for shelter space will be permanently terminated.

The space is used to house homeless women and children, and has been used by PCM for more than 24 years.

Executive Director Heidi Suhrheinrich says they need to find a temporary place as soon as possible.

At minimum the non-profit needs:
  • A building or buildings that sleep 12-15 people or less
  • A 12 month lease
  • Available as soon as August 1st, 2014
  • Located within Paducah city limits
  • Move-in ready
  • PATS accessibility
  • Washer/Dryer hookups

Anyone who may know of a place can e-mail PCM at
