No arguments made so far to keep Cuba Elementary School open

Posted: Updated:
GRAVES COUNTY, KY - Time is running out to submit your case for Cuba Elementary School.

In May, the Graves County School Board decided to put the school up for auction. The board originally decided to close the school to save the district about $375,000 a year.

A group of parents then filed an injunction to keep the school open, saying the school board did not follow proper procedure when closing the school.

Now a decision will be made. Thursday, June 27th, a Franklin County circuit clerk judge will review arguments revolving around selling the school.

If the judge decides in favor of the school board, the school and property could be auctioned off on June 30th.

WPSD Local 6 called the court's office and a spokesperson said no one has submitted an argument yet.

Anyone who wants to submit an argument must do so by midnight by faxing 502-564-8188.
