Community voices concerns about McCracken County Animal Shelter's conditions
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department say the necropsy on the five dogs found dead at the McCracken County Animal Shelter shows the dogs likely died of heat stroke.
Toxicology results are still pending.
Five dogs were found dead at the McCracken County Animal Shelter at 6:45 a.m. Monday morning.
The shelter's director, Ryan Brown, says the dogs were taken to Hopkinsville for a necropsy.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police are investigating the deaths.
They are waiting for the test results to decide which direction the investigation should go in.
We will be updating this story as more information becomes available.
This isn't the first time the shelter has been in the news.
Back in February, community members voiced their concerns about the shelter's conditions. You can read more about that story
