A Paducah woman has been charged with practicing law without a license.

47-year-old Patricia King was charged Monday afternoon.

The McCracken County Attorney's Office was the first to hear about the allegation. The office passed along the information to Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's Department of Criminal Investigations.

From there an investigation was launched into the allegation, which then lead to the charge.

Practicing law without a license is a Class B misdemeanor, punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $250 fine.

King is scheduled to appear in court on August 14th.
