Hit-and-run motorcyclist injures 2

McCRACKEN Co, Ky - Witnesses at the scene helped to identify a hit-and-run motorcyclist who collided with another motorcyclist and his passenger, both sustaining severe injuries.

Will Gainey, 51 of Ledbetter was traveling east on Clarks River Road when another motorcyclist hit him turning off Clarks River Road into a liquor store parking lot. The unidentified motorcyclist fled the area, leaving Gainey and his passenger on the side of the road.

Gainey's passenger, Crystal Cowen, 28 of Grand Rivers was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained severe injuries.She was later flown to Vanderbilt in Nashville. Gainey was also transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

Witnesses and family helped to identify the hit-and-run motorcyclist as Kevin Bowler, 37 of Ledbetter but so far authorities haven't been able to find him.
Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

Clarks River Road was partially blocked for one hour to help cleanup, treat victims, and further investigation.
