McCracken County's Hughes verbally commits to Kentucky

Posted: Updated:
PADUCAH, Ky - With two years of high school still left to play, McCracken County quarterback Zyaire Hughes has already decided where he wants to play his college ball. On Saturday, the junior verbally committed to Kentucky.

Hughes was at a seven-on-seven passing camp at the University of Kentucky on Saturday-- and that is where he gave his verbal commitment to the Wildcats.

The McCracken County quarterback also had offers from Purdue, Louisville, and Tennessee to name a few-- but Mustangs coach Jack Haskins says his quarterback chose Kentucky because he has a good rapport with the coaching staff, he loves the offense, and he's impressed by the upgrades to the facilities.

Hughes rushed for over 600 yards and 16 scores last season, along with over 24-hundred passing yards for 23 touchdowns through the air.
