Troopers hosting summer camp this week

Posted: Updated:
KENTUCKY - Thirty-two kids headed to Trooper Island Monday morning of a week of summer fun with local law enforcement.

Trooper Island has been an annual tradition since 1965.

Trooper Jay Thomas says without this program, many of the kids wouldn't get to go to summer camp.

"It's just a good sense of pride for me, just knowing the things we do we're really changing the child's life and giving them a better outlook on things," said Thomas.

The program is entirely financed by donations. If you wish to make a donation, you can purchase a $10 ticket at the Kentucky State Police Post in Graves County or ask any state police officer.

You'll be entered to win a new 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The winning ticket will be drawn on August 24th.
