  1. Managers at Metropolis' Honeywell Plant offered USW 7-669 a contract yesterday evening. But a Union spokesman, John Paul Smith called the proposal unacceptable. Honeywell and the union have until 11:59 tonight to sign a new contract.
  2. A three day cease-fire between Israel and Hamas began at 8:00 AM local time, but didn't last very long. Two hours later, four Palestinians were killed by Israeli tank fire.
  3. Two American aid workers will be flown to Atlanta, Georgia today. The pair contracted the deadly Ebola virus while working in Africa.
  4. Illinois Governor pat Quinn will be in Williamson County today. He will sign legislation that reduces the fees for all sport fishing licenses by $1 for those age 75 and older.
  5. You have just a few hours to buy your ticket to this year's St. Jude Dream Home before the Early Bird Deadline. You could win $2,400 in gas from Cheers Food and Fuel.
