Head-on collision on U.S. 641 in Marshall County kills two

U.S. 641 in Marshall County, Kentucky is now clear after a two-vehicle morning wreck that killed both drivers involved.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

47-year-old Phyllis Knight of Paducah was driving her Chevrolet Blazer north on the road, while 78-year-old Constance Donley of Gilbertsville was driving her Toyota Avalon south.

According to witnesses and evidence at the scene, Knight's SUV crossed the centerline and struck Donley's car head-on.

Both woman died at the scene of the crash. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

U.S. 641 from Yacht Drive to Briensburg/Tatumsville Highway near Gilbertsville had to be be closed for two hours for crews to clear the wreck.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
