PADUCAH, Ky. -

 1. Murray State University will go tobacco-free next year. The Board of Regents voted for the ban on cigarettes, smokeless tobacco and e-cigarettes yesterday.

2. Who will replace Chuck Hagel as our secretary of defense? We'll find out later today. President Barack Obama is expected to nominate Ashton Carter.

3. If you're convicted of a felony related to your job in Illinois, you could have your pension payment stopped. The state Senate approved the bill yesterday, following the House's approval last month.

4. Mazda expanded its recall in the US for the Takata air bags that may explode. They included high-humidity Gulf Coast states, but stopped short at a nationwide recall.

5. The Eggner's Ferry Bridge will close tonight and Monday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Crews are preparing for construction on the new bridge.

6. "Giving Tuesday" definitely had an impact. People across the country gave nearly $46 million to 15,000 nonprofit groups.
