MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY -

One person was sent to the hospital after a SUV hit a semi-truck.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was called to the intersection of US 60 West and Kelley Road just after 9:00 p.m. Monday on reports of a two vehicle accident.

Deputies say 20-year-old Zorine Black of Marion, Kentucky, was driving a SUV northbound on Kelley Road when she attempted to cross all four lanes of US 60 to continue northbound on Kelley Road.

Black didn't see 58-year-old Jeffrey Freeman of Henrey, Tennessee, who was driving a semi-truck westbound on US 60. Freeman attempted to avoid the crash, but was unable to.

Black hit the fuel tank on the driver's side of the semi-truck. Her SUV then began spinning counter clockwise and hit the semi a second time before coming to rest in the median. The crash caused approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel to spill onto the road along with a large amount of debris.

Black was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries. Freeman was not injured.

US 60 at the intersection was closed for about four and a half hours.
