Grant to create partnerships between colleges and employers

College students in western Tennessee will get the chance to train with their potential employers.

Dyersburg State Community College and area Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology received $850,000 in a state grant to partner with local employers and offer technical training.

The grant comes from the state's new Labor Education Alignment Program.

All the participating colleges are:

Dyersburg State Community College:

  • including the Gibson County Center and Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County


Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology in:

  • Covington
  • Ripley (including Bells campus)
  • Newbern (including Union City campus)
  • Jackson
  • McKenzie
  • Paris
