COLLINSVILLE, IL - Funeral arrangements have been set for the 13-year-old boy who died after a boating incident in Rend Lake Monday afternoon.

The Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Illinois is handling the arrangements for Cade Michael Calvert.

Cade passed away on Monday after falling into Rend Lake. He was found nearly two hours later by a search and rescue diver.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3rd from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville in Collinsville, Illinois.

Funeral services will follow the visitation.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Missions and will be accepted at the church during the visitation. More details on the funeral arrangements can be found here.

Cade's family sent out a statement saying, "Our family would like to thank everyone for their prayers. We want to give God the GLORY and we have peace in knowing that Cade is with God in heaven. Cade was full of life and this world would be a much better place if we, even as adults, would follow Cade's example. He was very compassionate, smart, creative, and above all, he loved Jesus Christ with all of his heart.

Cade was an awesome big brother to Conner and Cailey. His favorite memory verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville Youth Group, FCA and National Junior Honor Society.

Cade will be missed by many, but his legacy will live on in our hearts forever."

Cade's grandfather Terry Calvert also passed away on Monday. He had jumped into the lake to try and save his grandson. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden, Illinois. More details are available here.
