Deputies: Guns stolen from home, 7 arrested

MAYFIELD, Ky - On Thursday, Graves County Deputies received a call of two handguns stolen in the Fancy Farm Community. Deputies received information that 18-year-old Courtney Higgins of Mayfield and 26-year-old Jackson Owens entered the home and stole two handguns which they later sold for drugs.  Deputies located Higgins in Mayfield at which she confessed to the theft. Deputies then received information Owens was staying at a home on KY408 West in the Hickory Community.

Deputies arrived and located Owens at the home as well as drugs in plain view.  A search warrant was conducted and more drugs were located.  Owens was interviewed and confessed to the theft as well.  Owens was arrested as well as 28-year-old David Scott and 27-year-old Katrina Scott for possession of a controlled substance.  

On Friday, deputies received a call that 26-year-old Derek Dickson, a fugitive, 32-year-old Melissa Sullivan, and 27-year-old James Stovall were heading to the home on KY408 West to sell the stolen handguns. Deputy Richard Edwards conducted a traffic stop.  Edwards says Stovall was operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs and was with Dickson and Sullivan. All three were arrested.  

Deputies say Sullivan had meth and other drugs in her possession.  Stovall tested positive for meth and Dickson was also in the possession of drugs.  The vehicle driven by Stovall was reported as stolen from a home in Clinton where the Hickman County Sheriffs Office in conducting an investigation.  All 7 were taken to the Graves County Jail.

Higgins and Owens were charged with first degree burglary.  Katrina Scott is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  David Scott also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Sullivan is charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Stovall is charged with failure to wear a seat belt, DUI, drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence. Dickson is charged with promoting contraband possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
