With the nation's third-longest winning streak, many have begun to wonder how far Murray State can take the streak. With only nine games left in the regular season, it is possible the Racers could win out. But what would that mean to their postseason hopes?
If you win the Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship, teams are guaranteed a spot in the NIT. In recent years, the only way to get into the NCAA Tournament is to win the OVC Tournament.
Currently, Murray State is 82nd in the latest RPI polls, which helps to determine teams that make the NCAA Tournament.
But can Murray State make the tournament if they don't win the conference tournament?
"Honestly, there is no doubt we should make the tournament," Murray State head coach Steve Prohm said. "That is a long way off, but I think we have some good quality non-conference wins. I think if you dominate your conference and people have seen the eye test, then you tell me 38 other teams that are better."
