Woman charged in connection to Trenton stabbing arrested

JACKSON, Tenn. - Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained arrest warrants for a Gibson County woman who is charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Trenton earlier this month.

At the request of 28th District Attorney General Garry Brown, TBI Special Agents, in a joint investigation with the Gibson County Sheriff's Office, began investigating the attempted murder of Michael Hinton on January 17th.  Around 8:40 that evening, Mr. Hinton called 911 to report he had been stabbed. Through the course of the investigation, agents and deputies developed Autumn White-Smith as a suspect. After being interviewed by agents, White-Smith admitted to being in Mr. Hinton's home when he was stabbed and to discarding the knife used in the incident.

Today, Autumn White-Smith, 29, was arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact and Tampering with Evidence. She was booked into the Gibson County Jail where she is being held on a $75,000 bond.
