Ballard county state of emergency

Posted: Updated:
BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. -

Judge Executive Vickie Viniard in conjunction with the Emergency Management Office has declared Ballard County under a State of Emergency due to the winter storm that is impacting most of Kentucky at this time. Due to the large amount of snow that has accumulated since early this morning, travel on state and county roads is virtually impossible and highly dangerous. Everyone is encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel. If you have to venture out, please be prepared to encounter hazardous driving conditions and extreme cold over the next few days. Please be prepared for these extreme weather conditions if you venture out as emergency responders are also facing the same challenges if they have to respond to any emergencies. With this State of Emergency The Ballard County Judge Executive is issuing a Curfew of 8pm-5am for any unnecessary travel in Ballard County.  Again that is an 8pm-5am curfew for any unnecessary travel in Ballard County. This Curfew is in effect until further notice. For any needs please contact the Ballard County Office of Emergency Management at 270-665-9928, for ALL Emergencies please dial 9-1-1.  This concludes the one call for Ballard County.
