PADUCAH, Ky -
Kentucky Transportation Spokesperson, Keith Todd, said road crews will hit the road around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. Monday night, those crews went into standby mode around midnight. A small number of employees repaired equipment and replaced plow blades overnight. Remaining crews stayed on standby to respond to emergencies
Todd reports improvement on most "A" Snow Priority Routes but said there's still large piles of snow in many intersections.
Transportation Cabinet District 1 recorded temperatures at 11 degrees with pavement temperature at 18 degrees. District 2 workers reported freezing fog.
Road crews and local authorities still urge people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel.
