KY Road Condition Update: Wednesday, February 18

 Below is the road report from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet with details on conditions reported about 4:45 Wednesday morning.

Another round of snow started moving across the region around 3:00 a.m., CST.  Crews got a big boost in their snow-fighting efforts from the sunshine on Tuesday afternoon.  The sun helped to melt the near record snowfall we received on Monday from most road surfaces and help to warm pavement temperatures ahead of this next wave of snow.

While many counties that had finished their rounds on Tuesday kept minimal crews overnight to repair equipment and be available for immediate call out, all crews expect to be to full strength by about 5:00 a.m., as additional personnel report in.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews have the following county-by-county report:

District 1 Paducah
Time: 3:39 a.m., CST
Weather: Snowing

Road Temperature: 30



Comments: McCracken County B-team treating A routes with salt. Ballard County 4 trucks salting A routes. Crittenden 1 truck salting A routes Hickman 5 trucks plowing A route.


Trigg Co. called in their full A crew at 3am.  Snow has stopped in 5 of our most western counties.  Accumulation for those counties range from 1" to 1.6"

Standby: Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, Trigg


District 2 Madisonville


Time: 3:29 a.m., CST
Weather: Snowing
Air Temperature: 25
Road Temperature: 31



Comments: Snowfall has moved into all counties in District 2. Union and Henderson Counties have already received up to 1" snow accumulation at this time. Hopkins had 1 truck slide off into ditch, waiting for tow truck, no injuries.
