MAYFIELD, Ky -

A Paducah, Kentucky man is being charged by Kentucky State Police with attempted murder of a police officer.

Around 10:30 Friday night 21 year-old Noah B. Hill was driving through Mayfield at a high speed. Hill ignored signals from a Graves County Sheriff's deputy who was directing traffic at the time. After ignoring the deputy's direction to stop, Hill almost struck the deputy with his car.

A trooper with KSP was already attempting to catch up to Hill's car to initiate a traffic stop, due to a speeding violation he had observed earlier. After Hill almost struck the deputy, the trooper tried to stop Hill again. Hill was forced to stop after he drove into a snow embankment. After the collision, Hill tried to run away on foot. Hill resisted arrest, but the trooper used his taser and apprehended him.

Hill was taken to the Graves County Jail and charged with attempted murder of a police officer, resisting arrest, fleeing evading police, driving under the influence, disregarding a stop sign, disregarding signals from officers directing traffic, reckless driving, and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
