WASHINGTON DC -
First Lady Michelle Obama invites kids to send in their original healthy lunch recipes for the fourth annual Healthy Lunchtime Recipe Challenge and Kids' "State Dinner."
Eligible recipes must follow the federal MyPlate nutrition guidelines, and submissions need to include information on how and why the recipes were created. One recipe from each of the 50 states and territories will be selected. The winning children will be flown to Washington D.C. with a respective parent or guardian, where they can attend the Kid's "State Dinner" hosted by the first lady at the White House.
The competition is held with the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and public television station WGBH Boston.
The contest began Tuesday, and runs to April 30. To find out how to enter and contest rules, click here.
