PADUCAH, Ky - A St. Louis, Missouri, man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of second degree assault, according to the Paducah Police Department.

The police department said 22-year-old Michael Suntinger, of St. Louis, assaulted a Paducah man early Tuesday morning.

A Paducah police detective said Suntinger assaulted Zachary Ort, of Paducah, in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Wayne Sullivan Drive. When officers arrived, three people where trying to put Ort in a truck. They were trying to take him to a hospital because he was unconscious from his injuries.

Ort was taken to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment, but had to be transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, because of the seriousness of his head injuries.

After Suntinger was interviewed at the police department Tuesday morning, he was charged with second degree assault and jailed at McCracken County Regional Jail.
