PADUCAH, KY -  A Paducah man was arrested today in connection to a robbery that took place in September of last year, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies responded on Sept. 8, 2014, victims said that at about 5:55 a.m. an unknown black man knocked on their door and asked to use their phone. After one of the victims denied the request, the man allegedly forced his way into the home — in the 2500 block of Husbands Road — while brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money and jewelry.

The sheriff's department says victims gave the man money and multiple pieces of jewelry. After about 10 minutes, the man left on foot. Evidence was collected from the scene and processed at the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab. Investigators determined the weapon used in the crime was actually an Air-Soft handgun.

On Monday, April 13, detectives learned  the jewelry taken in the incident was sold in September at two local gold buyer businesses. A photo of Paducah resident Christopher E. Robinson, 35, was placed in a lineup, the sheriff's department says, and identified by the victims as the man who entered their home.

Robinson was arrested at about 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday in Paducah. He was jailed at the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash bond. He was charged with first degree robbery and first degree burglary,
