Attorneys seeking death penalty against suspect in deadly bank robbery

CAIRO, IL -

A man accused of killing two women during a bank robbery may be facing the death penalty.

29-year-old James Watts is accused of killing Anita Grace and Nita Smith while attempting to rob the First National Bank in Cairo, Illinois on May 15, 2014. A third person was critically injured.

Earlier this week U.S. attorneys filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty.

Watts' next court appearance is scheduled for May 27th.
