Two people stabbed, five others arrested over the weekend in West Frankfort, Illinois

WEST FRANKFORT, IL -

A fight at a local tavern in West Frankfort, Illinois lead to two people being stabbed and five others being arrested.

The West Frankfort Police Department says early Sunday morning they were called to the 1600 block of West Road on reports of a fight.

When they got there, officers found two people, 39-year-old Eric Hayes and 27-year-old Renee Stilley, with numerous stab wounds. The two were transported by air to St. Louis area hospitals.

Detectives began investigating and found that earlier Saturday evening there was a physical altercation involving the two people who were stabbed and five others at a local tavern. The fight eventually moved to the home on the 1600 block of West Road where the stab victims were found.

Those other five people were later found at a home in the 200 block of North Horrell Avenue. All five were arrested and charged with aggravated battery. They are:

22-year-old Logan Cook of Vandalia, husband of Renee Stilley
23-year-old Kelsey Leigh Ann cook of Vandalia, wife to Eric Hayes
23-year-old Chance Pauls of West Frankfort
23-year-old Cody Grove of Mulkeytown
21-year-old Seth Murphy of West Frankfort

An investigation is ongoing.
