EDDYVILLE, KY -

A Tennessee man was arrested after he led police on a chase through four Kentucky counties going over 100 miles per hour.

Kentucky State Police say troopers were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at KY 93 South and KY 293 near Eddyville, when a vehicle drove through the checkpoint without stopping.

The vehicle almost hit a trooper and continued onto KY 93. A chase began and police followed the vehicle onto I-24. The vehicle was going just over 100 miles per hour.

Trooper tried to stop the vehicle in Christian County by putting down tire deflation devices, but the driver was able to avoid most of them. Eventually, units were able to catch up with the vehicle and use a rolling road block to bring it to a safe stop.

Victor Bonillna of Springfield, Tennessee was arrested. He was charged with fleeing/evading police, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, and other traffic violations. He was taken to the Caldwell County Jail.

Troopers say Bonillna led police through Lyon, Caldwell, Trigg, and Christian Counties and hit a top speed of 105 miles per hour.
