One of the top ten spring festivals in the state is happening this weekend. You will find arts and crafts, live music and food. It is the LowerTown Arts and Music Festival.
Some people are already out this morning setting up for the big event that kicks off later today. Local 6's Mychaela Bruner met with organizers Michael and Victoria Terra about why they continue to direct the festival every year.
"I'm just like your accountant or your baker or your mechanic, I'm providing something the community needs," said Michael.
From the outside looking in, you would never know that masterpieces are being created inside this artistic home.
"If we are being creative, we are reaching out in the universe and bringing something here on the planet that's never been seen before," said Michael.
Terra has been sculpting and selling art since 1974.
"It allows me to change and grow and become who I'm about to become, I don't even know what that looks like yet," said Michael.
Michael and his wife Victoria are the co-directors for the LowerTown Arts and Music Festival.
"I look forward to seeing so many joyous faces, so many people on the street having a really good time, that just means the world to me," said Victoria.
The event celebrates the region's cultural richness.
"Everyone who comes gets to revel and enjoy living in a really cool place," said Victoria.
The event brings people of all walks of life together for one weekend.
The festival is a family friendly event, admission is free, and it runs until 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
