Transportation cabinet to work on multiple bridges

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a list of area bridges where a contractor plans to conduct survey and engineering work on Wednesday and Thursday. 

The work is to prepare for future navigation light upgrades, and drivers will encounter one lane traffic at the following times and places:

Wednesday, May 20

From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Marshall-Livingston County line: Interstate 24 Tennessee River Bridge, eastbound, at the 29 mile marker 

From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Livingston-Lyon County line: I-24 Cumberland Bridge, eastbound, at the 33 mile marker.

From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Livingston-Lyon County line: I-24 Cumberland Bridge, westbound, at the 33 mile marker.

From 2:30 p.m.to 3:30 p.m. at Marshall-Livingston County line: I-24 Tennessee River, westbound, at the 29 mile marker.

Thursday, May 21

From 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Lyon County: Kentucky 453/Dover Road/The Trace Canal Bridge, south of Grand Rivers at the Northern Land Between the Lakes entrance. 

From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Livingston-Lyon County line: U.S. 62 Cumberland River "Eureka" Bridge below Barkley Dam at Lake City.

On the Interstate 24 bridges, all traffic will move to the left-hand or passing lane.  All two-lane bridges will have alternating traffic flow, controlled by flaggers.
