MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY -

A former church elder has pleaded guilty to sending inappropriate messages to a minor.

Fredrick Daack of West Paducah accepted an offer from the Commonwealth on Monday for 3 years in prison, 5 years of probation, and register as a sex offender for the next 20 years. Sentencing is scheduled for September 14.

Daack was charged with sending inappropriate text messages to a youth church member and using an electronic device to procure a minor in a sexual performance.

Daack is a former Milburn Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church elder, the same church where Michael Parsons served.

Parsons was a youth pastor at the church and is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old member of his youth group. He faces charges of rape, sodomy, and unlawful use of an electronic device to procure a minor in a sexual performance in McCracken County.

He is also facing charges in Ballard County related to the same minor.

Parsons' hearing is continued until August. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
