Jackson, MO -

A local Missouri police department is passing along a warning after a string of car break-ins.

The Jackson Police Department says the areas of Trailridge Drive, Pioneer Orchard Road and York Street had several cars broken into. Some people had property stolen. This happened overnight, June 3 into June 4.

Jackson police say this is the time of year their department starts to get calls of thefts from cars in local neighborhoods. They ask that you not keep anything in your car that you consider valuable. Police say they've gotten reports of everything from computers, to purses, tools, firearms, money and other items stolen from cars. They also ask that neighbors keep an eye out for each other.

If you have any information concerning these car break-ins, contact the Jackson Police Department at 573-243-3151.
