Zack Pittman's mom says her son is making big strides in his recovery.A car hit the boy last month when the 11-year-old was heading home from school in McCracken County. On Wednesday, doctors moved him from the pediatric intensive care unit at Kosair Children's Hospital to a private room.Laurie Dowell-Pittman says Zack's CAT scans didn't show any abnormalities so doctors plan to put back a portion of his skull that was removed to help brain swelling."He's shown so much progress. He's shown so much sensitivity to touch and pain. He's opened his eyes. He's winking. He yawned yesterday. It's just amazing," said Laurie.Zack's skull surgery is set for Monday.
