Recovered items shown in sheriff's office open house

Posted: Updated:
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office held an open house of items stolen in a series of storage unit break-ins Thursday.

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars told Local 6 that, in an ironic twist, the stolen items were found in another storage unit. Investigators say the unit where the items were found, which the sheriff's office entered with a search warrant, was rented by Brandon York, who faces charges relating to an incident at a storage unit in McCracken County.

That incident also resulted in the shooting death of one man and murder charges brought against another

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office scheduled the event to reunite owners with their property.

The open house will be held again from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Marshall County Judicial Building at 80 Judicial Drive in Benton, Kentucky.

To view the items, you need to have filed a police report in your local jurisdiction and have a report with you or proof that you own the items.
