Local 6 has learned the large structure fire at Santie Oil in Sikeston, Missouri, that began early Monday afternoon is essentially out, aside from a few hot spots.
Firefighters will remain at the scene overnight, should anything reignite. The fire briefly forced the evacuation of people from nearby businesses, but no one was hurt in the incident. Police and the state fire marshal's office will continue the investigation into what sparked the fire Tuesday.
The American Red Cross said Monday that volunteers were providing food and drinks to emergency teams after hundreds of propane tanks exploded. The Red Cross says roughly 70 firefighters and emergency workers were at the scene from five different counties.
