Sikeston man arrested and charged with robbery

SIKESTON, MO -

A Sikeston, Missouri man was arrested and charged with an early morning robbery on Friday.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office says the robbery happened around 4:20 a.m. at a home east of Sikeston.

Five victims inside the home say they were awaken by two white men wearing ski masks. One of the men had a handgun.

The five victims were corralled into the living room and the suspects took their money and cell phones. Approximately $4,425 in cash and five cell phones were taken.

One of the victims was able to escape and get a description of their vehicle, saying it was a white SUV. Another victim said they recognized the voice of the one of robbers, who they identified as 28-year-old Andrew Robinett.

Shortly after the robbery, Robinett was arrested at his home. He was charged with armed criminal action, burglary, robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and endangerment of a child. 

Robinett is in the Scott County Jail on $25,000.

An investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
