Two children were injured after their family's horse-and-buggy collided with a cement truck in Casey County. Volunteer firefighter Loren Martin tells WLEX-TV (http://bit.ly/1DVbXy0) it was about 1 p.m. Friday, and he was working nearby when he heard the squeal of tires and "an awful thump, thump." He rushed to the scene on state Route 910 where he says the horse-and-buggy had been carrying two young girls, a baby boy and their father. Casey County Deputy Sheriff Chad Weddle says the horse reared up at the approach of the cement mixer and went in front of it. The two injured girls were flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where they are doing well. The father suffered a fractured leg, and the baby was unhurt. The horse was killed.
