CADIZ, Ky. -

A woman was flown to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, after her car collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. 68-80 in Cadiz, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers responded to the scene of the wreck — on U.S. 68-80 at the intersection of Interstate 24, north of Cadiz — around 06:31 a.m.

KSP says the tractor-trailer, driven by 58-year-old Delroy Gouldbourne of Rock Hill, South Carolina, had exited I-24 at the 65 mile marker and was trying to cross US 68-80 and re-enter I-24.

KSP says Gouldbourne failed to yield the right away at the stop sign, and continued going straight across US 68-80.  Then, 20-year-old Amber N. Ryan, of Cadiz — who was driving east on US 68-80 in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala —  was not able to stop in time after Gouldbourne pulled out in front of her. The Impala collided with the front of the tractor-trailer.

Ryan was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville because of her injuries, and KSP says she remains in stable condition. Gouldbourne and his passenger, 61-year-old Roberta W. Gouldbourne of Charlotte, North Carolina, were not injured.
