Four people were arrested on drug related charges in the Farley area on Thursday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says around 2:45 p.m. detectives saw two men engaging in what they believed to be illegal drug activity at the parking lot of a gas station located at the intersection of Benton Road and Silk Tree Boulevard.

The two men left the area when they saw the detectives. One man left on foot and the other in a car.

Detectives stop the car and found the driver, 23-year-old Timothy Stroup of Paducah, was under the influence of illegal drugs. He was arrested and charged with suspicion of DUI and no operator's license.

A deputy located the man who had walked away, 63-year-old Dewayne "Jeezy" Johnson of Farley. The deputy found $1,411 of cash and eight bags of cocaine on him. Johnson was arrested and charged with trafficking in a 1st degree controlled substance - cocaine and possession of cocaine.

Detectives then executed a search warrant at Johnson's apartment. Two people were inside. One person, 22-year-old Steven Jones of Ledbetter, tried to hide in a bathroom and conceal a baggy of crystal methamphetamine, a syringe, and marijuana from the detectives. Jones also had $1,159 of cash on him. He was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The other person, 29-year-old Tabatha Ward of Paducah, was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Inside the apartment, detectives found methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, prescription medication, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia. A 42" flat screen TV that had the serial number removed was also found. The TV is suspected of being stolen.

An investigation is ongoing.
