PADUCAH, KY -
Many of you honored Trooper Cameron Ponder with lunch on Wednesday.
There was a crowd at the Station Burger Company in Paducah just before noon. The line was out the door.
The Station was giving 20 percent of the profits at their Paducah and Murray locations to Ponder's family.
Jake Mills, an EMT with Mercy Regional EMS is a frequent costumer at the Station. Mills says even though he eats there often, he made sure the Station was his lunch stop Wednesday because it was for a good cause. Many other emergency service workers were there Wednesday afternoon, too.
Station Burger Company owner Carl Medlin said troopers are "here to protect and serve, and this trooper was trying to serve."
"I'm glad we had a chance as a community to come together and show our support," Medlin added.
The Station says they were able to raise $8,500 to help Ponder's family.
