Shanks indicted on hindering prosecution charge

Ambrea Shanks was indicted by a grand jury Monday on a charge of hindering prosecution, according to Commonwealth Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins. 

Shanks was the passenger in the car with Joseph Johnson-Shanks when Trooper Cameron Ponder was shot and killed.  She is Johnson-Shanks' niece. 

After her indictment, Ambrea Shanks was arraigned in circuit court and entered a plea of not guilty.  Her bond remains at $10,000 cash.  Her next court date is Nov. 2 before Judge Woody Woodall.
