Update: Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon reports that at 5:20 PM deputies were dispatched to a truck and Amish buggy collision on KY 58 West near KY 1283. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 2006 GMC Sierra, operated by 69 year old Robert Zimmer of Evansville, was traveling West on KY 58 West. He stated that he had the sun in his eyes and failed to see the buggy. The buggy was occupied by 28 year-old Lena Yoder and her children, 6 year-old Lizzie Ann, 5 year-old Moses, 4 year-old Eli, 2 year-old Andy, and 4 month-old Samuel, Jr. Moses Yoder was killed on impact and the remaining occupants were transported to area hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. After the buggy was struck, the horse was thrown into the eastbound lane of KY 58 West, where it was struck by a truck driven by Thomas Koebler of Hardin, Kentucky. Zimmer and Koebler were treated on scene for minor injuries.
A child is dead and four others are injured after a crash Friday night involving two trucks and an Amish buggy.
The crash happened at the intersection of KY 58 and 1283, between Mayfield and Clinton.
Graves County sheriff's deputies on scene tell Local 6 the Amish buggy was struck, injuring four people and killing a young boy on the buggy.
Two trucks were involved. We do not know if both of them struck the buggy.
