Karla's Favorite Granola

Here's Artisan Kitchen's delicious recipe for Karla's Favorite Granola.

- Butter, for greasing pan
- 3/4 cup raw oats
- 1/4 cups unsweetened flake dried coconut
- 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup chopped Macadamia nuts

- 1/4 cup whole pecans
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 Tablespoons wheat germ
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup dried banana chips
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup dried blueberries

- 3/4 cup honey
- 1/3 cup butter

- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the granola: Preheat the oven to 360 degrees and lightly grease a baking tray with butter.

Place the oats, coconut, pumpkin seeds, nuts, sunflower seeds, and wheat germ in the baking tray along with the cinnamon and mix well. Bake until crispy and slightly golden, 10 to 15 minutes.

For the syrup: In the meantime, heat the honey, butter, and sugar in a saucepan until well combined and slightly thickened, 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.

Remove the toasted mix from the oven and pour the syrup over it, mixing it together and taking care to make sure all the ingredients are coated in the syrup. Bake until golden brown and crunchy, a further 10 minutes.

Let cool slightly before adding the banana chips and dried fruits. Allow to cool completely before placing into a sealable, clear storage jar.
