PADUCAH, KY -

One in six women and one in 33 men are victims of sexual assault, according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

On Wednesday, students and staff at West Kentucky Community and Technical College stood up against the crime through a campaign called "It's on Us."

They dipped their hands in blue and pink paint, and decorated a mural to represent the victims of sexual assault.

"It will be placed in the student center so that it can be represented of all the students and faculty and staff that came together to put their hands on the sheet," says Tammy Thompson, public relations at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Fifteen community colleges across the state have joined the national campaign to take a stand against sexual assault and domestic violence.
