Veterans were awarded quilts from the Quilts of Valor Foundation at The National Quilt Museum in Paducah on Veterans Day.
The quilts were part of an exhibit displayed in the museum —To Honor and Comfort: Quilts of Valor. During the exhibit's closing ceremony at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the quilts were given to veterans and active service members.
Museum CEO Frank Bennett told Local 6 that 30 area veterans would be honored at the event, and organizers expected more than 300 area veterans and their families to attend.
Local 6 photographer Chad Darnall was at the event, and we'll have more on this story tonight at 10 p.m.
