Mistrial declared in animal torture case

Posted: Updated:

A judge has declared a mistrial in the Edward Ream case because of an error in jury selection.

Ream is accused of poisoning neighborhood cats and dogs with antifreeze in Ballard County.

A judge made the decision to call a mistrial because one of the jurors to be taken out of the pool was accidentally put back in.

A pretrial conference is set for December 4. That's went a judge will set another date for the case.
